Welcome to FocusLive ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the FocusLive application and related services (the "Service").

By using FocusLive, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the Service, we may collect:

• ▸Display Name — a publicly visible name you choose
• ▸Avatar — a profile image you upload
• ▸Bio — a short description you write about yourself
• ▸Google account email and profile info — used solely for authentication via Google OAuth; this information is not displayed to other users

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:

• ▸Timer session data — durations, frequency, and settings of your focus sessions
• ▸Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, and general technical data
• ▸Usage analytics — anonymised page views, session events, and interaction patterns collected through Umami Analytics (a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool)

2.3 Location Data (Pro Feature)

If you are a Pro subscriber and choose to join the Global Focus Map, we collect your precise geographic coordinates via your browser's Geolocation API. This requires your explicit permission through your browser's built-in permission dialog.

We use the information we collect to:

• ▸Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• ▸Display your Display Name, Avatar, and Bio to other users
• ▸Show your approximate location on the Global Focus Map (Pro feature, with your consent)
• ▸Process payments and manage your subscription via Dodo Payments
• ▸Send transactional emails (e.g., receipts, account notifications) and, where you have opted in, marketing communications
• ▸Understand how users interact with the Service through aggregated, anonymised analytics
• ▸Respond to your support requests and communications
• ▸Comply with legal obligations

We use the following third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:

• ▸Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (servers may be located outside India)
• ▸Google OAuth — sign-in authentication (your Google data is not shared with other users)
• ▸Mapbox GL — map rendering for the Global Focus Map feature
• ▸Dodo Payments — payment processing for Pro subscriptions (we do not store your card details)
• ▸Umami Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics

Each third party is governed by their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them if you have concerns about how they handle your data.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• ▸Public profile information — your Display Name, Avatar, and Bio are visible to other users
• ▸Location on map — if you opt in as a Pro user, your approximate location is visible to other active map participants for the duration of your session
• ▸Service providers — our third-party partners listed above, strictly for operating the Service
• ▸Legal compliance — if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority
• ▸Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred (you will be notified)

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. Specifically:

• ▸Location data is deleted within minutes of being recorded by an automated cron job
• ▸Account data (profile, session history) is retained until you delete your account
• ▸After account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• ▸Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• ▸Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• ▸Deletion — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• ▸Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
• ▸Withdraw consent — particularly for location tracking, which you can revoke at any time via your browser settings

FocusLive uses Umami Analytics, which is cookieless and does not use tracking cookies or fingerprinting. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Your session data may use browser storage solely for functional purposes.

FocusLive is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure database infrastructure via Supabase, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
